Dr. Goland is a noted clinical investigator who leads the team of physicians and caregivers at the nationally renowned Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center. She and her colleagues established the Center in July 1997, and she has guided it to become a premier, family-focused diabetes care and research facility. At Columbia University, Dr. Goland also leads a clinical research program in diabetes. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Dr. Goland earned a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, New York City. She completed both her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Internal Medicine: Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Colombia Presbyterian Medical Center, NY.
Dr. Goland's numerous research accomplishments include being among the first to report the increased incidence of type 2 diabetes in adolescents and young adults. She also pioneered an insulin pump program at the Berrie Center for patients with type 1 diabetes.
