Education
Dr. Kaufman received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed an internship, residency and fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. A diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Kaufman is board certified in pediatric endocrinology and metabolism.
Recognition
Dr. Kaufman's numerous honors include the Distinguished Professor Award from the Keck School of Medicine. She is a recent president of the American Diabetes Association, and works in close cooperation with the Juvenile Diabetes Association, National Diabetes Education Program, International Diabetes Federation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and UNESCO. A frequent speaker at national and international meetings, Dr. Kaufman is one of only two pediatric endocrinologists in Southern California listed in the West Coast and Pacific region in America's Top Doctors. She also is listed in Best Doctors in America.
