Dr. Leschek has had an impressive career as a Pediatric Endocrinologist, Clinical Researcher, and Clinical Research Director. This background serves her well in providing scientific and managerial oversight to TrialNet's multi-center studies of interventions to prevent type 1 diabetes in at-risk individuals and to preserve beta cell function in those newly diagnosed. Consisting of 18 Clinical Centers and more than 100 Affiliate Centers, the research network Dr. Leschek oversees also conducts genetic and epidemiology studies on those people screened for or enrolled in Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet studies.

Dr. Leschek received her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC.


Dr. Leschek has been published in many scientific publications, including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology Metabolism, Journal of Pediatrics, Journal of the American Academy of Child Adolescent Psychiatry, and Diabetes Care. She received an Award for Outstanding Achievement from NICHD, and an Award of Excellence in Pediatrics from the Medical Center of Delaware.
